TECT Nutrition Fund

A. HISTORY 
This fund has been established by the professional association and bargaining unit (TECT), comprised of elementary teachers of the Toronto Catholic District School Board in order to enhance the delivery of nutrition programs in elementary schools.

B. DESCRIPTION OF AWARD 
The TECT Nutrition Fund is administered through The Angel Foundation for Learning in order to respond to nutrition-related needs in elementary schools. Funding for this initiative is provided through donations in memory of deceased TECT members as well as general donations.

C. CRITERIA 
Funds will be awarded from time to time in order to assist a school to: 
– Establish or expand a nutrition program
– Augment the required ‘local’ funding portion where municipal and provincial funding is provided for a program
– Provide for on-going sustainability of a program
– Purchase new/replacement equipment

D. APPLICATION PROCESS 
Applications for this fund should be signed by both the local TECT Representative and the school principal and sent to the Executive Assistant at The Angel Foundation for Learning on the appropriate TECT Nutrition Fund Application Form. All applications will be forwarded to the TECT Executive.  

E. SELECTION PROCESS 
All applications will be considered by the TECT Executive at its monthly meeting. After an application has been approved by the TECT Executive, The Angel Foundation for Learning will arrange for the transfer of funds to the appropriate school.

F. DONATIONS 
Donations to the TECT Nutrition Fund may be made to The Angel Foundation for Learning, 80 Sheppard Avenue East, Toronto, Ontario, M2N 6E8.
