TCDSB Employees Credit Union Limited School Community Award

A. HISTORY 

As an organization committed to developing school spirit and community building, the TCSB Employees Credit Union and its Board of Directors has established the School Community Award. This award is given to an elementary school that promotes school spirit in an effort to forge stronger relationships within the school community as well as to build a stronger school community overall.

Through the TCSBECU School Community Award, the Credit Union wishes to

encourage schools to emulate the qualities that they so highly value – Catholicity, trust, integrity, philanthropy, community, compassion and charity.

B. DESCRIPTION OF AWARD 

The TCSBECU School Community Award is a special fund administered through The Angel Foundation for Learning to support innovative programs intended to develop school spirit and a stronger school community. A grant of $500 will be awarded each year to an elementary school who meets the criteria listed below.

C. CRITERIA 

The TCSBECU School Community Award will be given to an elementary school in the Toronto Catholic District School Board based on the following criteria:

The program focuses on promoting school spirit and fosters community building at the school level as well as helps to forge relationships within the school community

The program is consistent with Gospel Values.

D. APPLICATION PROCESS 

Applications for the TCSBECU School Community Award can be sent to the Executive Director of The Angel Foundation for Learning by using the School Community Award Application Form. All applications should be submitted by April 15, 2011. The award will be presented to the selected elementary school during Education Week.

E. SELECTION PROCESS 

All applications must be forwarded by the school to the Executive Director, The Angel Foundation for Learning. The Selection Committee – comprised of staff and members of the Board of Directors of TCSBECU and staff and members of the Board of Directors of The Angel Foundation for Learning – will review all applications. The recipient will be notified shortly thereafter. The presentation of the award will be made during Education Week.
