Toronto Marlies/ TCDSB School Day Game 2010

On Wednesday, March 03, 2010, TCDSB students participated in the Toronto Marlies School Day Game held in support of The Angel Foundation for Learning. Over 2,500 students, staff and parents attended the game at Ricoh Coliseum. The event raised $8,300 and the funds will be used to assist vulnerable TCDSB students.

The School Day Game was a community-building experience as groups from over 45 elementary and secondary schools filled the Coliseum. Healthy, Active Living was the clear message of the day and the event offered many students who were actively involved in the Health Action Teams to be acknowledged for their leadership abilities. Student participation is a predominant theme at the Foundation and so students were on the ice with their hockey heroes as Future Stars; they sang the National Anthem; they participated in a shoot-out; they flocked the Fan Tunnel and they delivered powerful Public Service Announcement on the Jumbotron.

We hope that they carried away with them many memorable memories. We thank them for their energy, enthusiasm and their active participation that make the event memorable for us as well. .
